About JayCache
JayCache is going to be a Java
geocaching tool
with a slight emphasis on managing your own finds. Right now, there's
only a library (JayCache Util) and - as a by-product and to
demonstrate the library - an
applet, so
please be patient.
Requirements
Java >= 1.6
Planned Features
Here's a subset of the planned features. Some of them might be implemented
in the near future, some of them might take much more time.
Map Display
The map display will show a map (using
Openstreetmap) with waypoints:
- Will show all your finds (finals, stations, whatever)
- Will show all caches you've planned to do
- Will show all your tracks of your caching tour
Logging
Logging to different sites can be quite tedious - they all use different
formats, bbcode, html, what ever. Plus using a web browser to log isn't
very convenient. You'll be able to post (and change previous) logs.
Importing/Exporting
All the major formats (like GPX) will be supported. Due to the modular
design, it will be quite easy to add more data formats
Website
You'll be able to display your finds on your own website - it will be
dynamically created. So, if you've found a cache, it will be visible
ASAP on your personal page, thus creating a kind of geoblog.
